Under the guidance of Dr. Mostafa Muftah the department provides comprehensive instruction in Aqeedah, Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Usool ud deen & Arabic Language. Students who graduate from this program will be equipped to serve their communities as Imams, Islamic Studies teachers, and Counselors and much more. Those who combine the degree along with another degree like Information Technology, will be better equipped to serve communities in administrative positions. Islamic Studies Faculty will offer AA, BA, MA, & PhD degrees through its Independent Studies Program, as well as live on line classes program. Additionally, people can attend live classes locally at NAU’s various branches in the US as well as abroad.

Lecture Series

NAU offers a Lecture Series program which hosts distinguished guests from around the world, speaking on a range of contemporary and historical topics. In doing this, NAU creates opportunities for the respectful and intelligent sharing of ideas. These informative and in depth discussions and events are open to the public and free of charge. Students are especially encouraged to attend. Special Events: NAU hosts several special events throughout the year, such as community dinners, workshops, cultural events and more. Students are welcome to attend.
